  • Giving back and supporting the communities and neighborhoods we call home is at the very core of what APX Construction Group is all about. Not only does it foster community connections, make them stronger as a team, and of course promote business opportunity, but more importantly – it feeds their desire to “pay it forward”. APX is so proud to do business and build businesses in the local greater Mankato community they call home.

    apx spooktacular store-it event

Halloween in Mankato is a SPOOK-TACULAR time of year and APX Construction Group was proud to support this one-of-a-kind annual event at Store It MN, a redevelopment project by APX Construction Group. Store It MN breathes new life into the previously empty Lowes box store. It brings Mankato a unique indoor, climate-controlled storage facility and a unique twist on how a city can use these abandoned buildings. Store IT MN offers the most advanced technology in storage solutions featuring a cloud-based keyless entry system allowing their guests access to their storage unit directly from their smartphone. It also provides video surveillance, moving solutions, easy indoor loading and unloading, great customer service, online billing solutions, a coffee bar, and free wifi. Store IT MN offers over 650 storage units across 145,000 SF of space.

Spooktacular was created by APX Construction Group during the pandemic to provide a safe environment where families could trick-or-treat from six feet. APX Construction Group realized there was a void in the community as most of the local trick or treating events were forced to cancel and they felt a responsibility to open up Store IT MN as a solution. Their team brainstormed how they could safely funnel families through and slow roll them access to a glimpse of what Halloween is meant to be. Last year was a huge success and this year was intended to be even bigger and better.

It was exciting to see over 3,500 community members including the APX Construction Group team, local sponsors, and guests of all ages come to enjoy this experience. Throughout the building, children were laughing, smiling and maybe a little creeped out as they adventured through the various booths, spooky spaces, and candy at each stop. Individuals of all ages were thrilled with the experience to trick or treat with their families in a fun, safe atmosphere. The atmosphere was filled with Halloween music, theatrical lighting, fog machines, holograms, and dressed-up volunteers. It’s a haunted house like feel, but not as scary for the small children. The décor and special elements were second to none, garnering a lot of “oohs” and “aahs” from the kids and adults alike.

At APX, we believe in doing right by all the members of the Greater Mankato area and being good stewards of our community. They strive to be more than just a commercial general contractor, but an active part of what makes this city an ideal place to work, play and live! By creating and gifting events like Spooktacular, they are able to give the opportunity to provide the members of their community with a chance to experience their company and culture in a unique, innovative way.

It takes a village and this year they were proud to see this event grow in partnership with the presenting sponsor, MN Valley Federal Credit Union, and other top sponsors, Schwickerts and Tailwind Group. It would not be possible without all the support from their professional peers and community partners that sponsored a unit. Their efforts and investments in this event to decorate and gift treats to over 3,500 individuals was amazing to witness and a true testament to how great this community is. They would like to thank the following businesses for supporting – Blinds and More, Bremer Bank, Cambria, Coldwell Banker Commercial Fisher Group, Century 21, Clifton Larson Allen, Community Insurance, Evenson Concrete Systems, EXP Realty, Guaranteed Electric Service, Hy-Vee, JP Fitness, North Central International, Old National Bank, Rickway Carpet, TOV Chiropractic, True Real Estate, Windshields Today, and WW Communications & Security Specialists.

APX Construction Group is already brainstorming what the future of this event will look like and one thing is for sure, it will just keep getting better. As a local, family-owned company, it is important that they create a community where they are proud to raise their children and Spooktacular is just one of many platforms APX Construction Group uses to do right by their community.
