About the Community Event
Halloween in Mankato is a SPOOK-TACULAR time, and APX Construction Group was thrilled to support this unique annual event at Store It MN. This redevelopment project breathes new life into the former Lowes store, transforming it into a cutting-edge, indoor, climate-controlled storage facility. Store It MN features advanced technology, including cloud-based keyless entry, video surveillance, easy indoor loading/unloading, and top-notch customer service. Spanning 145,000 SF with over 650 units, it’s a prime example of how cities can repurpose abandoned buildings creatively.
From Vision to Reality: The Origin Story Spooktacular
Spooktacular was created by APX Construction Group during the pandemic to provide a safe environment where families could trick-or-treat from six feet. APX Construction Group realized there was a void in the community as most of the local trick or treating events were forced to cancel and they felt a responsibility to open up Store IT MN as a solution. Their team brainstormed how they could safely funnel families through and slow roll them access to a glimpse of what Halloween is meant to be. Last year was a huge success and this year was intended to be even bigger and better.
Over 3,500 community members, including the APX Construction Group team, local sponsors, and guests of all ages, enjoyed this exciting event. Children laughed, smiled, and were maybe a little creeped out as they explored booths, spooky spaces, and collected candy at each stop. The fun, safe atmosphere offered something for everyone, with Halloween music, theatrical lighting, fog machines, holograms, and costumed volunteers creating a haunted house feel that was perfect for young children. The décor and special effects earned plenty of “oohs” and “aahs” from both kids and adults.
At APX, we believe in doing right by all the members of the Greater Mankato area and being good stewards of our community. They strive to be more than just a commercial general contractor, but an active part of what makes this city an ideal place to work, play and live! By creating and gifting events like Spooktacular, they are able to give the opportunity to provide the members of their community with a chance to experience their company and culture in a unique, innovative way.
Thank You to Our Sponsors for Supporting the Spooktacular Halloween Event & Community Redevelopment!
It takes a village and this year they were proud to see this event grow in partnership with the presenting sponsor, MN Valley Federal Credit Union, and other top sponsors, Schwickerts and Tailwind Group. It would not be possible without all the support from their professional peers and community partners that sponsored a unit. Their efforts and investments in this event to decorate and gift treats to over 3,500 individuals was amazing to witness and a true testament to how great this community is.

APX Construction Group is already brainstorming what the future of this event will look like and one thing is for sure, it will just keep getting better. As a local, family-owned company, it is important that they create a community where they are proud to raise their children and Spooktacular is just one of many platforms APX Construction Group uses to do right by their community.
