CORONAVIRUS RESPONSE PLAN
The outbreak of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) is a significant global health concern. At APX Construction, our highest priority is the health and safety of our employees, customers, subcontractors, and the communities where we live and work. As the impacts of COVID-19 surround us, we aim to keep our job sites safe, our crew and subcontractors working, and our attitudes positive. We are serving our community the best way we know how – TOGETHER.
HOW OUR BUSINESS HAS CHANGED
This is not business as usual times for anyone. As developments surrounding COVID-19 progress, we continue to monitor the situation and adjust our company’s response as necessary. The COVID-19 Preparedness Plan is administered by Aaron Lambrecht, Safety Director, who maintains the overall authority and responsibility for the plan. However, management and workers are equally responsible for supporting, implementing, complying with and providing recommendations to further improve all aspects of this COVID-19 Preparedness Plan. APX Construction’s employees have our full support in enforcing the provisions of this plan.
HOW WE ARE KEEPING OUR EMPLOYEES, JOB SITES, AND SUBCONTRACTORS SAFE
- Handwashing stations and/or hand sanitizer at all job sites
- Jobsite superintendents will send people home that show symptoms of COVID-19
- Requiring all subcontractors to sign in daily on jobsites via COVID safety plan check-in or mobile app
- Stopping in person meetings in order to utilize video meetings and phone calls
- Reducing interactions between office staff and field staff to reduce the chance of illness spread
- Requiring all subcontractors to sign in daily on jobsites via COVID safety plan check-in or mobile app
- Social distancing of 6 feet
- Regular cleaning of commonly used items and surfaces
- Avoiding touching faces including nose, ears and eyes
- Coughing or sneezing into elbows or tissues
- Jobsite signage to educate on hand washing and COVID-19 symptoms
Just like our work is important to us, we know that your work is important to you. We are following and will continue to follow guidelines from:
- Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
- Minnesota Department of Health (MDH)
- Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
Construction workers upon arrival and check-in at the worksite. The health screening will be conducted by the Superintendent using the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) Visitor and Employee Health Screening Checklist. Workers will be stopped from entering the worksite if their responses to the health screening indicated they are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 or have tested positive for COVID-19 and they will be sent home immediately. If workers begin experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 while at work, they must also be sent home immediately (See Visitor and Employee Health Screening Checklist)
Employees who have tested positive for COVID-19 or have been in close contact with a person with COVID-19 symptoms or who has tested positive for COVID-19 must not report to work until their isolation or quarantine period is completed. (See the Return to Work Policy)
APX Construction has implemented leave policies that promote workers staying at home when they are sick, when household members are sick, or when required by a health care provider to isolate or quarantine themselves or a member of their household. Accommodations for workers with underlying medical conditions or who have household members with underlying health conditions have been implemented. (See the Families First Coronavirus Response Act Policy)
A daily attendance log to account for business’s workers and visitors will be present both in person on the job site or via mobile app. APX Construction has also implemented a policy for informing workers if they have exposed to a person with COVID-19 at their workplace and requiring them to quarantine for the required amount of time. APX Construction will send written notification to all parties that may have been exposed.
In addition, a policy has been implemented to protect the privacy of workers’ health status and health information. In order to protect our workers, we ensure we are in compliance with HIPPA.
