ABOUT OUR LEADERSHIP

Ryan Evenson and Mitch Rohlfing worked their way up in the construction industry before founding APX Construction Group in Mankato, Minnesota. Our full-service construction company provides a single point of contact to our clients for general contracting, construction management, design-build services and facility maintenance.

Ryan is the third generation of his family to work in the construction business. Mitch worked in the field as a carpenter during high school and college, after graduation, he worked for a private home builder for several years.

Since Ryan and Mitch founded APX in 2014, they’ve experienced continued growth every year. Ryan attributes these results to delivering what owners are looking for, such as effectively managing projects, providing creative resolution and adhering to cost schedules. The APX team has grown to 16.

As a third-generation contractor with over 25 years of experience in the construction industry, Ryan Evenson, President of APX Construction leads a team that strives to be the best in every aspect of the commercial construction business.

Ryan has a bachelor’s degree from Minnesota State University – Mankato, in Construction Management and graduated Magna Cum Laude. He is passionate about providing APX clients with the highest quality craftsmanship and unparalleled customer service.

To do this he brings together a long-standing tradition of construction experience, harnessed with leading edge technology and resources. He takes great pride in knowing client expectations and then surpassing them.

Outside of work, Ryan enjoys spending quality time with his family, hunting, fishing and supporting local charitable organizations. He currently resides near Madison Lake, MN with his wife, two daughters and son.

MITCH ROHLFING

Mitch Rohlfing, Vice President of APX Construction Group is an experienced construction project manager with expertise in bidding, budgeting, site safety, subcontractor management and contract execution.

Mitch has a bachelor’s degree from Minnesota State University – Mankato, in Construction Management and is energetic and dedicated to providing excellence and consistency across all facets of APX’s process. With specialized skills in complex commercial structures, Mitch is highly proficient in managing and balancing all aspects of scheduling, estimating and budgeting. His proficiency in handling construction methods and materials allows him to consistently exceed both performance and quality standards.

Outside of work, Mitch enjoys spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.

JOEY BARR

Joey Barr joined APX Construction Group in March of 2017 has six years of experience in project management, pre-construction planning, contract negotiation employee management and sales. He is currently a project manager with APX.

Joey has a bachelor’s degree in business management from St. Cloud State University. He enjoys building long-lasting relationships with the APX client base and believes that building those relationships over the course of project leads to great friendships and happy customers.

Outside of work, Joey enjoys golf, baseball, pool, darts, gambling ,watching professional sports, and spending time with his family.

ANDREW STEMPER

PROJECT MANAGER // ESTIMATOR

Andrew “Drew” Stemper joined APX in May of 2018 as a carpenter. By December of 2018, Drew narrowed his focus to project management and worked as a project management intern, learning the skills required for that position. By May of 2019, he began his new position as project manager within APX Construction Group.

Drew has a bachelor’s degree from Minnesota State University – Mankato, in Construction Management and is OSHA 30 and ICRA certified. He has worked in the construction industry for more than six years during which time he has sharpened his skills in critical thinking, estimating, scheduling and client communication. He finds great personal reward in both quality craftsmanship and customer satisfaction. 

Outside of work, Drew enjoys supporting communities that have played a role in who he is today at community booster, fundraising and benefit events. He also enjoys spending free time in fresh air. Whether it is hunting, fishing or golfing, you can find Drew spending time in the outdoors.

DAWN QUAM

SENIOR PROJECT COORDINATOR

Dawn Quam joined APX Construction Group in June of 2017 with 13 years of experience in project coordination and administration. She is currently an APX project coordinator and specializes in contract management and other administrative efforts. 

Dawn enjoys the complexity and challenges of her position and her skill set allows her to multitask and adjust quickly to the needs of both clients and employees alike. Her attention to detail, flexibility and efficiency make her an excellent asset at APX.

Outside of work, Dawn enjoys spending time with her family and scrapbooking.

PAULA KROOK

PROJECT COORDINATOR

Paula Krook joined APX Construction Group in August of 2019 with 15 years of experience in project management and administration. She is currently a project coordinator with APX.

Paula enjoys the complexity and challenges of her position at APX and her skills in multi-tasking, organization, project development, creativity and problem solving enables her be part of a group that keeps APX projects and teams moving smoothly and efficiently.

Outside of work, Paula enjoys working on the farm, woodworking projects, spending time outdoors landscaping, going for hikes, bike riding and playing tennis. She also volunteers for Disabled American Veterans events, Southern Minnesota Children’s Museum DIG IT event and the Sharing
Tree organization.

JAMIE JACOBS

Jamie Jacobs joined APX Construction Group in June of 2020 specializing in interior design, marketing, event planning and business development. She comes to APX with 15 years of professional design experience and has a bachelor’s degree from Minnesota State University – Mankato, in Interior Design and Construction Management.

Jamie enjoys the challenges of working in a constantly changing commercial building industry. She appreciates task diversity and understands that by embracing flexibility she can build strong relationships and develop trust with the end users.

Outside of work, Jamie is the president of the Minnesota River Builders Association. She sits of the board for the Builders Association of Minnesota and chairs the Greater Mankato Growth Cavaliers group. She is one of the founders of Raw Fusion Fashion Show and enjoys fundraising for other local nonprofits.

KELSEY HOOD

MARKETING COORDINATOR

Kelsey joined APX Construction Group this past July as our Marketing Coordinator. She holds her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from Minnesota State University in Mankato. She comes to APX with a playful and unique aesthetic that covers multiple facets of typography, illustration, and design. 

Kelsey has a knack for transforming words from an unimpressive cluster of letters into design pieces that leap right off the page. 

Outside of work, Kelsey enjoys designing all things paper stationery, painting, DIY projects for the house, and finding a new show to binge watch on Netflix. She also enjoys spending time with her friends, family and dog, Lua.

PROJECT SUPERINTENDENTS

RICK LINDE

SENIOR PROJECT SUPERINTENDENT

As a project superintendent, Rick prides himself on his ability to work collaboratively in a mobile work environment and maintain positive customer relationships. As a problem solver an forward thinker by nature, he manages overall punch lists and closeout processes for facilities before certificates of occupancy are awarded. He communicates effectively with vendors and subcontractors assuring timely turnover.  

Rick’s other responsibilities include ensuring safety measures are followed, observing performance and making recommendations for efficiency. He also spends time reading plans and delegating but still maintains overall responsibility and accountability for each project.

BEN SCHMILLEN

PROJECT SUPERINTENDENT

Ben Schmillen joined APX Construction Group in May of 2019 and has 17 years of experience in construction, project management and sales. He is currently a job superintendent with APX.

Ben enjoys the challenges of starting a project and working closely with the APX team and APX clients to chart progress and “make dreams come true.”

He believes it’s easy to come to work when your customers, coworkers and employees are happy.

Outside of work, Ben enjoys hunting, fishing and the great outdoors. He sits on the board of directors for the Nicollet Conversation Club, where he raises funding for wildlife lands and restoring wildlife habitats. He has also participated in the local Habitat for Humanity and Kiwanis Club.

BRENT VOLLBRECHT

PROJECT SUPERINTENDENT

Brent Vollbrecht joined APX in April of 2019 and is currently a project superintendent, joining with more than 15 years of construction experience.

Brent has a bachelor’s degree in industrial technology with an emphasis in construction management and a minor in business administration. He also holds a contractors license in the state of Minnesota. 

Brent feels the most rewarding part of his job is knowing the hard work, time and energy will produce an incredible project and a satisfied customer.

Outside of work, Brent enjoys spending time outdoors and is an avid hunter. He also likes completing home projects, playing amateur baseball and spending time with his family.

PAUL LANG

PROJECT SUPERINTENDENT

Paula Lang started with APX Construction Group in June of 2020 as a project superintendent. He brings a positive attitude and experience with commercial construction to the APX Team.

Paul values customer satisfaction and believes in taking the time to do things right the first time. He has a bachelor’s degree from Minnesota State University – Mankato, in Construction Management and is OSHA 10 certified. Paul enjoys working with a company that is fast paced and takes pride in surpassing client expectations. He finds his job most rewarding when seeing a happy customer being able to make a positive impact within the community.

Outside of work, Paul enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors. He is also a member of the Nicollet County Pheasants Forever, and organization that helps raise money for land conservation around the local area.

PHILLIP HAWKINS

PROJECT SUPERINTENDENT

Phil Hawkins started with APX in September of 2020 as a project superintendent.  He brings 10+ years of construction experience to our team. Phil brings a passion for problem solving. He likes to get to the bottom of how things work and find ways to fix or make them better. 

Phil received his Associates of Applied Science in Civil Engineering technology from South Central College.  Phil loves the relationship side of our business and getting to know all the different people.  He finds the most rewarding part is being involved in a project from start to completion and then being able to see the final product. 

In his spare time, he enjoys duck hunting, hiking with his wife and dogs, traveling when that was still an option, working on cars, boating, and remodeling project. Phil and his wife love to volunteer as dog walkers at BENCHS.

JANA BRIX

AR | AP SPECIALIST

Jana Brix joined APX Construction Group in March of 2019 with 32 years of experience in office management, accounting and administration. She is currently an office manager with APX and specializes in accounts payable, accounts receivable, workers compensation, contract management and payroll expertise.

Jana has a bachelor’s degree in administrative management. She employs a variety of skills for the many hats she wears at APX and credits her flexibility, organization, positivity, attention to detail and her inherent ability to multitask for her ability to successfully juggle and complete her office responsibilities.

Outside of work, Jana enjoys spending time with her grandson and going to her lake cabin. She also enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and gardening.

BRIAN EIDET

CMA // CONTROLLER

Brian Eidet joined APX Construction Group in March of 2019 as a controller and had nearly six years of accounting experience prior to joining APX.

Brian has bachelor’s degrees from Concordia St. Paul, in accounting and from Southwest Minnesota State University – Marshall, in business management. He is also a certified management accountant. In addition, he is an adjunct accounting instructor at South Central College.

Outside of work, Brian serves as a BMX instructor at the Mankato YMCA.
